The hyper-partisan mind

Today I discovered there are people who believe:

– Harper is evil because he wants to build prisons and incarcerate everyone he can for minor drug offences

– Harper is evil because the system refused to incarcerate Micheal Zehaf-Bibeau to help him overcome drug addiction

I suppose it would be possible to thread the needle and coherently reconcile those positions. (We should have a small prison system that only locks people up at their own request for the purpose of “rehabilitation”.) But given the volcanic rage conveyed by their prose, the writers don’t strike me as individuals committed to nuanced policy positions so much as a bizarre, cartoonish, and Manichean outlook on┬álife and politics.
