And we’re back from hiatus with a few photos from the musée national de la Renaissance in Écouen, north of Paris.
Some nice stuff here, including some massive tapestries that once belonged to Henry VIII. Not sure how they ended up here. They recount David and Bathsheba, but with all the characters dressed in renaissance garb. The theme of adultery had a certain resonance with the Tudor king.

This cup doesn’t seem that practical to drink from. Maybe it works as a trophy.
